History
The Tocqueville Society is a national leadership-giving program created by United Way of America in 1972 to involve and deepen the understanding, commitment, and support of individuals to United Ways and to recognize the deep commitment to outstanding voluntary community service.
The Tocqueville Society of the Rock River Valley was established in 1995 to foster, promote and recognize the vital importance of local voluntary community service and personal giving at an exceptional level. Membership in the Society includes individuals and private foundations making contributions at the leadership level of $10,000 or more annually.
United Way is proud to salute Tocqueville Society members for their foresight, dedication and generosity. Together, they have a tremendous impact on our community by creating opportunities, improving lives, and making our community a better place in which to live.
Membership serves not only to advance the charitable work of the United Way, but also as an exemplary statement of caring and compassion to all citizens of the Rock River Valley.
