City of Rockford strengthening its neighborhoods by hiring those living within them

Posted on

The saying goes "it takes a village." The adage typically describes the work it takes to accomplish just about anything. The same can be said for building strong, healthy and happy neighborhoods. But, in the case of Rockford, you could say it takes a city.

And, in this case, the City of Rockford is taking that adage literally. In order to help build stronger neighborhoods within it, the City of Rockford is hiring. Three city departments, their human resources department, the Rockford Fire Department, and the Rockford Police Department, all have current openings and open application periods.

For those looking for a new career in 2019, you’re encouraged to apply. To do so, the City of Rockford is hosting three job fairs. All three city departments will be on site for each.

Wednesday, January 16 @ RPD District 3, 557 S. New Towne Dr., Rockford
Wednesday, January 23 @ Fire Station #3, 888 Marchesano Dr., Rockford
Wednesday, January 30 @ City Hall, 425 E. State St., Rockford

Times for each are 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.

If you can’t make it to the job fairs, the Rockford Fire Department’s open application period ends on March 17, the Rockford Police Department’s on March 31.

Good luck! #LIVEUNITED
