A century of positive change in the Rock River Valley

Posted on

Imagine being able to guarantee that the kindergarteners and first graders in your neighborhood will meet the social, emotional, physical, and academic abilities of all of their peers.

Imagine being able to help them achieve grade level academic success in core subjects like reading and math.

What if you were able to contribute to them building positive behavioral skills in decision-making and problem-solving?

What if I told you, you can accomplish all of those things, and so much more, by simply giving to United Way of Rock River Valley?

According to a recent community impact study, the efforts of United Way of Rock River Valley, through donations from residents like you, have resulted in 85% of children in our community, entering kindergarten and first grade, demonstrating age appropriate social, emotional, physical, and academic skills. The same study showed that 85% of area youth also achieved grade level academic success in math and reading. It also showed 70% of youth demonstrated an increase in skills leading to positive behavior changes in decision-making and problem-solving areas.

It didn’t stop there. The study showed that half of our area’s youth are making positive changes towards self-sufficiency, and a vast majority are building knowledge in problem-solving related to substance abuse and violence prevention.

Those positive strides were made possible through programs, services, and the focus of United Way of Rock River Valley – efforts that would not be possible without donors like you.

When you donate, your money isn’t being lost in the shuffle. It is genuinely making a clear and obvious difference in every neighborhood in the Rock River Valley.

As we enter our 100th year serving Winnebago and Ogle counties, we thank you for supporting us and allowing us to make positive change in our community over the previous century. It is our promise that those efforts, with your help, will continue for the next 100 years.
