Campaign Awards

Rainbow Award
The Rainbow Award is in recognition of the creative efforts demonstrated through the workplace campaign.  These ideas are submitted to United Way and the United Way shares these creative ideas with others to assist them in generating fun, creative ideas.  With this award there are a select few who will receive the Golden Rainbow Award.  To achieve the Golden Rainbow a workplace campaign must experience growth directly related to creative ideas implemented.  All Golden Rainbow Award Winners will be recognized and presented their Rainbow Award at United Way of Rock River Valley’s Community Thank You Luncheon.  Other Rainbow Award winners will receive a certificate recognizing their efforts.  Deadline for this award is 5pm Friday, January 9th, 2009.

Coordinator of the Year
The Employee Campaign Director of the Year award is an honor given to four Employee Campaign Directors who demonstrate exceptional skills in directing their respective United Way campaigns.  The four levels will be based on company size:   1-100 employees, 101-249 employees, 250-499 employees, 500+ employees.  To be eligible companies must have run a campaign the previous year, have a 5% increase in giving this year, Director must be a donor to United Way, and the Director must complete and report their respective campaigns on time.  Awardees will be recognized at the annual United Way Thank You Luncheon along with a letter written to their CEO/President recognizing them in the efforts and award achieved.  Application submission is due by 5pm Monday, December 1st, 2008.

Rookie of the Year
The Rookie of the Year award is given to a company who is a brand new partner with United Way in running a workplace campaign. The winner is decided by who achieved the highest employee per capita gift or highest average donation.

Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award highlights the smaller companies in our community that have less than 100 employees, but still create a major impact in our community through United Way. The recipient will have an increased employee campaign, high percent of staff participation, perform other special events or volunteering projects in addition to the workplace campaign, and have the campaign completed in a timely manner.

Spirit of the Community Award
The Spirit of the Community Award is given to a company that truly embodies what it means to LIVE UNITED. The winner of this award will go above and beyond to get its employees involved in giving back to the community, whether it be time, talent, donations, or anything to better our local community and inspire us all to LIVE UNITED.

Loyal Company of the Year
The Loyal Company of the Year award goes to a company that continues to give back to United Way year after year. The company that gets honored with award has to have been giving to United Way for over 25 continuous years. The company continues to be reliable in its ability to give and up hold standards no matter the economic situation, employee size, or hardships they face.

Retailer of the Year
The Retailer of the Year award highlights one retailer who in the past year has demonstrated an excellence in giving back to our community through United Way. The retail industry is in a unique position to deal with external customers who might not be aware of United Way and therefore this retailer seeks to get them involved through various means.
