Investing in our Community

Community grant awards are part of United Way's Community Impact model, which invests in effective programs and initiatives that produce measurable results toward goals in the areas of education, income and health.

Funding is recommended by trained volunteers in Winnebago and Ogle counties that devote countless hours toward the investment process each year. Trained volunteers evaluate programs against several criteria such as community need and impact, program outcomes and effectiveness, and efficient resource management and collaboration.
